The School Accountant is responsible for managing the school's financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, fee collection, and financial reporting. The role ensures compliance with statutory regulations, internal policies, and supports the overall financial health of the institution.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Bookkeeping:
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
Record day-to-day financial transactions using accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks).
Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies.
Budgeting & Financial Planning:
Assist in preparing annual budgets in coordination with the management.
Monitor actual expenses against budgets and report variances.
Fee Management:
Manage student fee collections and maintain proper records.
Handle late fee notices, receipts, and refund processes.
Reporting & Audits:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Coordinate with auditors for internal and external audits.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and school policies.
Maintain documentation for financial processes and approvals.
