The Accountant is responsible for maintaining the financial health of the organization by managing accurate financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing data-driven insights. In 2026, this role specifically focuses on leveraging automation and AI tools to streamline routine tasks and provide high-level strategic guidance to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheets, P&L, Cash Flow). Perform variance analysis to explain discrepancies between actuals and budgets. Compliance & Tax Management: Ensure all financial operations adhere to GAAP/IFRS and local tax regulations. Coordinate and prepare for internal and external audits. Manage tax filings, including income tax, GST/VAT, and payroll tax. Strategic Advisory & Data Storytelling: Interpret complex datasets to identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue drivers. Present financial insights to non-financial stakeholders using data visualization tools. Operations & Automation: Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions. Manage the integration of AI-driven accounting software to automate routine ledger entries and reconciliations. Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and rolling financial forecasts. Monitor cash flow and predict future financial trends.
