POSITION SUMMARY



We are seeking a detail-oriented

Accountant

to manage our financial operations, support our growth and ensure compliance in a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate will handle budgeting, payroll, tax compliance, and financial reporting, collaborating with HR and leadership to drive strategic decisions. This role is critical for maintaining financial transparency and supporting our mission to deliver cutting-edge IT solutions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED



Minimum of 2- 3 years in accounting/finance, preferably in an IT startup or fast-paced environment, with experience in scaling financial processes, budgeting, payroll, and tax compliance.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS



Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or any similar related field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES



1. Financial Data Management: Gather, monitor, and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and support decision-making for new hires and existing employees. Reconcile bank statements, vendor payments, client receipts, and payroll entries

2. Financial Reporting: Provide relevant financial data to the Chartered Accountant's Office in order to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and present insights to the COO and leadership team.

3. Invoicing and billing: Prepare and issue client invoices on time as per project milestones or contracts; track receivables, send reminders, and follow up for payments; handle employee reimbursements and petty cash

4. Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets for various expenses and forecast costs/revenues to support growth.

5. Payroll and Compliance: Process payroll for employees, ensuring timely EPF/ESI contributions and compliance with GST, TDS, and other tax regulations.

6. Tax Management: Coordinate with external CA or auditor to prepare and file tax returns, ensuring adherence to federal and state laws.

7. Internal Audits: Conduct internal audits to identify discrepancies, mitigate risks, and maintain accurate records

8. Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, manage accounts payable/receivable, and optimize liquidity to support hiring and operational needs

9. Accounting Systems: Maintain and update cloud-based accounting tools in HRMS to streamline processes in a hybrid setup.

10. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with departments like HR to align payroll and benefits, and support COO in fundraising or investor reporting as needed.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES



1. Proficient in Ms. Excel for financial modelling and analysis

2. Familiarity with ERP systems

3. Comfort with ambiguity and ability to create structure in a startup environment

4. Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills.

5. Effective communication to present financial insights to non-finance stakeholders

6. Understanding of GAAP, Indian tax regulations (GST, TDS,ITR), and compliance standards
