Job Title: Senior Accountant

Department: Finance & Administration

Location: Koramangala, Bengaluru

Reports to: Director

Objective: To oversee and manage the organization's complete financial operations -- ensuring accurate accounting, statutory compliance, financial transparency, and strategic insights that support Whitecaps' growth across its academic, cafe, and business divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management & Control

? Oversee end-to-end accounting operations across multiple business units (academy, cafe, workshops, product sales, etc.).

? Supervise junior accountants and ensure accuracy in bookkeeping, reconciliations, and documentation.

? Develop, implement, and monitor internal financial controls and accounting procedures.

? Maintain an updated general ledger, ensuring accuracy in trial balances, ledgers, and closing entries.

2. Financial Reporting & Analysis

? Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).

? Conduct detailed variance and profitability analysis for different business verticals (training, operations, events).

? Support management with financial insights for decision-making, budgeting, and cost optimization.

? Manage MIS reporting and financial dashboards for leadership.

3. Budgeting & Forecasting

? Collaborate with management to prepare annual budgets and forecasts.

? Track actual performance against budget and provide corrective recommendations.

? Analyze revenue trends, operational expenses, and capital investments.

4. Statutory Compliance & Audit

? Ensure 100% compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements (GST, TDS, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, etc.).

? Handle monthly filings, annual returns, and tax audits in coordination with external consultants.

? Lead statutory and internal audits -- preparing schedules, resolving queries, and implementing recommendations.

? Maintain strong relationships with auditors, banks, and financial institutions.

5. Payroll & HR Coordination

? Oversee the monthly payroll process in coordination with HR.

? Verify attendance, deductions, reimbursements, and ensure accurate statutory remittances.

? Handle full and final settlements and annual Form 16 issuance.

6. Vendor & Procurement Oversight

? Approve vendor bills, purchase orders, and payments after due verification.

? Ensure procurement transactions are budget-compliant and properly documented.

? Negotiate payment terms where required to improve cash flow.

7. Strategic & Operational Involvement

? Provide financial input for strategic initiatives -- new course launches, cafe operations, events, and collaborations.

? Monitor cash flow and working capital; forecast fund requirements proactively.

? Support management in policy creation (fee structure, expense policy, travel claims, etc.).

? Assist in cost-benefit analysis for key business decisions and operational expansions.

Qualifications & Experience:

? Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce / Finance / Accounting (B. Com, M.Com, MBA Finance, or equivalent).

? 5-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.

? Proficient in Tally ERP and advanced Excel.

? In-depth knowledge of Indian accounting standards, GST, TDS, payroll compliance, and audit processes.

? Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills. ? Excellent communication and reporting abilities.

Preferred Attributes:

? Experience in the education, hospitality, or service industry.

? Exposure to multi-vertical accounting (academy + retail + cafe).

? Ability to work independently with a high sense of integrity and ownership.

? Strong coordination skills with cross-functional teams and senior management

? Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports.

? Compliance score (on-time statutory filings, error-free audits).

? Budget adherence and variance reduction. ? Process improvement initiatives implemented.

? Cash flow efficiency and cost control effectiveness

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
