Job Description

The Accountant will oversee financial transactions, maintain accurate records, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the financial health of the chit fund operations.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Ledger Maintenance

Record daily financial transactions including member contributions, auction proceeds, and disbursements. Maintain general ledger and reconcile accounts regularly.

Chit Fund Operations

Track monthly collections and payouts for each chit group. Assist in conducting auctions and preparing related financial documentation. Monitor default payments and follow up with members.

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure adherence to chit fund regulations under the Chit Funds Act and state laws. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Assist in filing taxes and statutory returns (GST, TDS, etc.).

Audit & Internal Controls

Support internal and external audits. Implement financial controls to prevent fraud and ensure transparency.

Member Support

Address member queries related to payments, receipts, and account statements. Generate and distribute monthly account summaries.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounting; experience in chit fund or NBFC preferred. Proficiency in accounting software Knowledge of chit fund regulations and financial compliance.

Skills Required

Strong analytical and numerical skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple chit groups.
