The Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining the financial records of the organization. This role ensures accuracy in bookkeeping, compliance with financial regulations, and timely preparation of financial reports. The Accountant supports budgeting, auditing, and overall financial planning of the institution.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate day-to-day financial records, including ledgers, journals, and vouchers.
Prepare and update cash books, bank books, and reconciliation statements.
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
Process invoices, receipts, payments, and vendor bills.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring expenditures.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, Income Tax, etc.).
Coordinate with auditors and provide necessary financial documents.
Manage payroll processing and maintain employee financial records.
Maintain asset registers and oversee fixed asset management.
Keep track of fee collections (for school/college setups) and prepare fee-related reports.
Support management with financial data and analysis for decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proven experience as an accountant or similar financial role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, or other ERP).
Good understanding of MS Excel and financial reporting formats.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an educational institution (if applicable).
Knowledge of GST filings and TDS Working.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
