Position Title: Accountant (Financial Analysis & Reporting) Job Location: Bangalore, KA-India Job Role And Responsibilities Support management reporting activities and proactively collaborate with partners for month end closing, forecasts, results packs, leadership presentations and results meetings: Responsible for P&L/cost analysis & reporting including but not limited to file maintenance, departmental reports, BPC/bonus/amortisation forecast submissions and cost allocation reviews Investigate, research and develop recommendations for the allocation rules Support processes, reporting and analysis for materials, R&D and fixed assets & inventory insurance Responsible for submissions related to charitable contributions and SEC reporting Understand and apply calculations/methodologies to produce variance analysis & commentary that aligns at the Product group, BU, Division, Segment and Consolidated level. Variance analysis may include Total Sales (price realisation post discounts, freight price, NPI sales impact, warranty, currency, sales volume) & Profit Margin (sales volume/price/mix, variable & fixed manufacturing costs, SG&A) Business Unit Coordinator Responsible as a Business Unit coordinator for research/engineering costs, intercompany service charges and general ledger systems including setting up and maintaining master data/cost allocation rules Provide technical expertise and perform complex accounting work that supports above processes including monthly closing and annual budgeting cycles Work with extended teams providing timekeeping, invoicing and accounting support as required Develop into a subject matter expert and provides guidance/training for all related systems & reporting Process Transition & Improvement: Perform the tasks related to the transition of the projects in line with COE scope of work, timelines, business requirements and defined metrics/KPIs Participate in knowledge transfer sessions, defining and owning the documentation (instruction manuals and scorecards/trackers) Partner with multiple global stakeholders on day-to-day operations Identify and leverage on tools and technologies to transform processes Drive continuous improvement via simplification, standardization and automation Embed change management best practices Candidates Will Preferably Have: Knowledge of using tools such as Axiom, SAP Business Objects (BOBJ), SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) and other Financial reporting software and tools Working knowledge of basis of allocation, methodology and processes Experience with advanced excel, power BI and powerpoint presentations Ability to quickly learn Caterpillar management reporting methodology and knowledge about products, suppliers, and consumers Background/Experience/Skills & Capabilities Proven experience in financial reporting, analysis, FP&A and month end processes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex financial data, trends and patterns Excellent customer service skills working in a global environment with multiple stakeholders to drive outcomes Self-starter, works well independently and in a team, with excellent communication skills Showcased leadership skills, good judgement, and accountability in prior roles Experience in process transitions and transformations in a virtual environment CA with 10 -12+ years of progressive experience Additional Information Work timings 2 p.m. to 11p.m. IST Work from office IC (individual contributor) role Additional Information: Caterpillar is not currently hiring individuals for this position who now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status; however, as a global company, Caterpillar offers many job opportunities outside of the U.S. which can be found through our employment website at www.caterpillar.com/careers Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO) EEO/AA Employer.
