Core responsibilities Financial record-keeping: Maintain and organize accurate financial records, including managing the general ledger and performing daily transaction entries. Financial statement preparation: Compile and prepare key financial documents such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Financial analysis and reporting: Analyze financial data to assess performance, identify risks, and provide reports to management for decision-making. Budgeting and forecasting: Develop and manage budgets, monitor spending, and forecast future financial performance. Tax preparation: Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, and advise on tax strategies. Auditing and compliance: Conduct internal audits, ensure financial records comply with regulations and accounting principles (like GAAP), and work with external auditors. Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in financial records. Key skills and qualifications Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with accounting software and technology. Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations. Attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication skills to explain findings to management.
