Job Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with expertise in various accounting software. This role involves managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of our organization through accurate financial management and analysis.

Duties



Prepare and maintain financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards. Conduct account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payment and collection. Perform financial analysis, including cash flow analysis and budgeting. Prepare regulatory reports and ensure compliance with SOX and other applicable laws. Manage payroll processing and related financial reporting. Assist in tax preparation and filing, ensuring compliance with tax laws. Mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on best practices in accounting. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero for efficient financial management. Conduct audits to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and adherence to internal controls. Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate bookkeeping records.

Skills



Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. Strong knowledge of financial concepts including accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits. Familiarity with corporate finance principles and private equity considerations. Experience in non-profit accounting or governmental accounting is a plus. Understanding of securities law and wills, trusts & estate law is beneficial. Excellent analytical skills for interpreting financial reports and conducting account analysis. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate financial statement preparation. Ability to forecast financial trends and manage budgets effectively. Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
