Accountant

to join our team. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong understanding of taxation, Tally, and experience working with insurance broking and commission structures.

Job Summary:



We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented

Accountant

with a solid background in handling brokerage reconciliation, commission statements, and taxation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a graduate degree in accounting, along with practical experience working in the accounting field, particularly in the insurance industry. A candidate who has previously worked with Tally and has experience working in a team-oriented environment will be preferred. This role will focus on regular financial reconciliations, commission statements, returns, and tax compliance.

Key Responsibilities:



Brokerage Reconciliation:

Reconcile insurance brokerages received from insurance companies to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.

Commission Statements:

Prepare and manage commission statements for agents based on the business generated and commissions earned.

Tally Entry:

Enter financial transactions into the Tally system accurately, maintaining up-to-date financial records.

Taxation:

Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations, including GST, TDS, and other tax filings. Prepare and file regular returns.

Financial Reporting:

Assist in the preparation of monthly and yearly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the finance and operations team to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of accounting tasks.

Auditing Support:

Provide support during internal and external audits by ensuring all records are in place and compliant with accounting standards.

Record Keeping:

Maintain all accounting records and financial documentation in an organized and accessible manner.

Other Ad-Hoc Duties:

Perform any other accounting-related tasks as assigned by senior management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:



Education:

Minimum graduate degree in Commerce (B.Com) or Accounting.

Experience:

At least 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on insurance broking or similar sectors.

Taxation Knowledge:

Strong understanding of taxation, including GST, TDS, and income tax regulations.

Tally Expertise:

Proficiency in using Tally for accounting and bookkeeping.

Commission Handling:

Experience in preparing and managing commission structures, particularly for agents and brokers.

Attention to Detail:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping and reporting.

Team Player:

Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate across departments.

Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to identify issues and find solutions in accounting processes or discrepancies.

Strong Work Ethic:

Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.

Candidate from CA Background (Preferred):

A candidate who dropped off from CA or has prior experience working in a CA firm will be given preference.

Preferred Qualifications:



Prior experience working in the insurance broking industry. Knowledge of financial software and tools beyond Tally. Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles. Certification or courses related to accounting or taxation.
