Job Description

The Plant Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing all financial and accounting functions at the manufacturing plant. This includes cost accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, reporting, and compliance with internal controls and company policies. The role works closely with operations to ensure accurate financial representation of plant activities and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

:

Cost Accounting

: Maintain and analyze standard costs; update material, labor, and overhead rates. Monitor and analyze manufacturing variances (e.g., purchase price variance, usage variance, efficiency variance). Perform inventory valuation and reconciliation.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

: Prepare monthly plant financial reports and analyze variances vs. budget/forecast. Support month-end and year-end close processes. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to management.

Budgeting & Forecasting

: Participate in annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes. Partner with plant leadership to develop cost reduction and efficiency improvement plans.

Internal Controls & Compliance

: Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, company policies, and accounting standards. Support internal and external audits related to plant operations.

Collaboration & Communication

: Work with production, supply chain, and engineering teams to support financial decisions. Assist in capital expenditure analysis and project tracking.

Qualifications

:

Education

: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA/CMA is a plus.

Experience

: 3-5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.

Skills

: Strong knowledge of cost accounting and GAAP/IFRS. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards). Advanced Excel skills; data analysis and visualization tools are a plus. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Work Environment

:

Based in a plant setting with regular interaction with operations teams. May require occasional extended hours during month-end or budget cycles. Potential exposure to manufacturing areas, requiring adherence to safety procedures.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
