We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
Accountant
with strong experience in core accounting functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounts for our Indian office, handling audits, preparing financial statements, maintaining expense records, and supporting our finance operations aligned with local and international requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
Prepare and maintain
balance sheets
,
profit & loss statements
, and other financial reports
Handle accounts payable and receivable
Manage
company expenses
, including verification, categorisation, and timely reporting
Oversee invoicing, billing, and payment follow-ups
Perform
account reconciliation
and ensure timely month-end and year-end closures
Handle
internal and external audits
, including preparation and submission of audit documents
Manage statutory requirements:
GST, TDS, PF/ESI
, and other Indian tax compliances
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
Coordinate with the finance teams supporting India and Australia operations
Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards and internal company policies
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 2-4 years of hands-on experience in accounting
Strong understanding of Indian accounting principles and statutory regulations
Experience in preparing balance sheets, financial statements, handling expenses, and assisting in audits
Proficiency in Tally / QuickBooks / Zoho Books or similar accounting software
Strong analytical, numerical, and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Experience with education sector accounts (preferred but not mandatory)
