The Accounts Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial
operations of the organization, ensuring accurate reporting,
compliance, and cost control, while also driving target-based
outcomes such as revenue tracking, collection efficiency, and financial
planning. The role demands strong analytical ability, attention to
detail, and leadership in managing the accounts team and related
financial activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
Manage day-to-day accounting operations (AP/AR, general ledger, reconciliations).
Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure statutory compliance with GST, TDS, PF, ESI, Income Tax, etc.
2. Revenue & Collection Targets
Monitor student fee collections / client payments on a regular basis.
Set and achieve monthly and quarterly collection targets.
Coordinate with sales/BD teams to ensure timely invoice clearance.
Reduce outstanding receivables and improve collection cycle efficiency.
3. Budgeting & Cost Control
Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts.
Track expenses against budgets and ensure cost-saving targets are met.
Identify areas of unnecessary expenditure and recommend corrective measures.
4. Cash Flow & Fund Management
Manage cash flow planning and ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
Monitor bank accounts, fund transfers, and investments.
Optimize working capital by controlling payables/receivables.
5. Audit & Compliance
Liaise with auditors, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
Maintain accurate documentation for audits and inspections.
Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies.
6. Team Management & Other Activities
Supervise junior accountants and finance staff.
Conduct training for team members on compliance and reporting.
Support management with financial insights for strategic decisions.
Participate in cross-department activities (business reviews, planning meetings).
Monthly Target & Performance Metrics
Collection Target: 80% of receivables to be collected monthly.
Expense Control: Maintain expenses within budget.
Financial Closing: Complete month-end closing by 25th date.
Compliance: 100% timely filing of GST, TDS, PF, and other returns.
Accuracy: Error-free MIS/financial reporting.
Team Productivity: Ensure team delivers reports & reconciliations on/before deadlines.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and compliance.
Hands-on experience with Tally/ERP and MS Excel.
Analytical mindset with target-driven approach.
Good leadership and team management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience
B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA (Inter/Final preferred).
3-5 years of experience in accounting & financial management.
Prior experience in handling collections & revenue targets is a plus.
