Job Summary:
The Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the full spectrum of accounting operations including general ledger maintenance, books closure, statutory compliances, and financial reporting. The role will support the Senior Manager in preparing accurate financials, ensuring timely regulatory filings (including ROC), and maintaining robust internal controls. The candidate should possess strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and compliance frameworks, particularly relevant to the food industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounting & Bookkeeping:
Supervise day-to-day accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
Maintain accurate general ledger accounts.
Ensure proper documentation and classification of all transactions.
2. Month-End and Year-End Closure:
Lead month-end and year-end closing activities.
Prepare trial balance, P&L, and balance sheet schedules.
Coordinate with internal teams for ledger reconciliations and provisioning.
3. Financial Reporting & MIS:
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS reports.
Analyze financial data and provide insights on budget vs actuals.
Support Senior Manager with variance analysis and performance reviews.
4. Statutory Compliance:
Ensure timely filing and payment of GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and Professional Tax.
Maintain compliance with Income Tax and Companies Act provisions.
Prepare and coordinate statutory audits, tax audits, and internal audits.
5. ROC and Regulatory Filings:
Prepare and assist with all ROC filings as per Companies Act (including AOC-4, MGT-7, etc.).
Liaise with Company Secretary and external consultants to ensure accuracy and timely submissions.
6. Finalization of Accounts:
Assist in preparation of financial statements as per Indian GAAP / applicable standards.
Coordinate with auditors for finalization and sign-off of books of accounts.
7. Team & Process Management:
Guide and supervise the accounting team (Jr. Executives, AR/AP staff).
Implement process improvements and automation in accounting practices.
Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce / Finance; CA Inter or equivalent preferred.
5-8 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in the food/FMCG/retail sector.
Sound knowledge of GST, Income Tax, and Companies Act.
Experience with ROC filings and statutory audits.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Zoho, or any ERP).
Strong Excel and financial analysis skills.
Good leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.

Hands-on exposure to cost accounting and inventory valuation.
Ability to handle multi-location accounts consolidation.
