About our Team

The Research Intelligence team specializes in understanding what data is available for research leaders and what tools are best leveraged to analyze the data. We provide research intelligence tools and data for customers who are looking for insights via analytics to improve their strategy and impact. We dive into complicated questions and find answers that are supported with accurate, in-depth analysis.

About the Role

You will partner with your accounts, calling on key stakeholders to measure and improve client satisfaction of our products. You will provide excellent customer support and value-added services to ensure retention and renewal of our customers. You will build and manage relationships to identify opportunities for sales of new and additional Solutions products.

Responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Achieving overall revenue targets for a portfolio of scientific databases and solutions. Including Solutions Products and Content Licensing.

\xc2\xb7 Understanding client needs in a consultative approach. Translating into realistic propositions and packages in support of the company sales strategy. Working closely with regional and federal government agencies to develop projects for scientific databases and solutions.

\xc2\xb7 Formulating focused strategies tailored towards the market; align sales approach to meet market needs in accordance with company policies. Devising and implementing account strategies to address differentiated needs at all levels of accounts.

\xc2\xb7 Conducting annual account planning and execution (jointly with Account Manager where required). Ensure Salesforce is always up to date. Reviewing sales results and forecasts e.g. via Clari and other sales enablement tools and adjust actions accordingly.

\xc2\xb7 Gathering, monitoring and evaluating competitor information and providing market feedback to the business to enhance product development and Go-To-Market strategy. Including Providing market feedback to enhance product development for a more customer-focused product. Participating in trade shows and conferences, with agreed outcomes.

\xc2\xb7 Developing and maintaining relationships with all relevant decision makers and influencers at the customer level to support Elsevier\xe2\x80\x99s strategic objectives.

\xc2\xb7 Integrating and processing information derived from current projects, customers, market awareness and technical knowledge

Requirements

\xc2\xb7 Experienced at senior levels in sales, account management or similar.

\xc2\xb7 Able to operate on an operational, tactical and strategic level.

\xc2\xb7 Have a proven track record selling technology and solutions.

\xc2\xb7 Be self-motivated and driven and love building relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders. (e.g. senior levels)

\xc2\xb7 Skilled in building out (expanding) business with a customer and in strategic account planning. You can connect the dots within customer\xe2\x80\x99s institutions.

\xc2\xb7 Have knowledge of specific Research Intelligence solution areas and background in complex solution-sales approach. (\xe2\x80\x9cConsultative selling.\xe2\x80\x9d)

\xc2\xb7 Experienced working in or with research administration and management functions. Having knowledge in regional or national research programs, collaboration networks, and key leaders.

\xc2\xb7 Have exceptional communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
