About Navjyoti India Foundation


Navjyoti India Foundation is a not-for-profit organization established in 1988 by 16 serving Delhi Police officers under the leadership of Dr. Kiran Bedi, the first woman IPS officer of India. The Foundation works with the mission of crime prevention through welfare policing and has been serving communities for over 36 years.

Our work focuses on bringing sustainable, qualitative change in the lives of under-served communities in the urban slums of Northwest Delhi and rural/peri-urban areas of District Gurugram, Haryana. Our programs cover Child Education, Women Empowerment, Youth Skill Development, Community Development, and Environment initiatives.

Position: Accounts Executive


The Accounts Executive will be responsible for handling project-based accounting, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely statutory compliance, and preparing reports for internal management and external donors. The role requires strong knowledge of Tally, financial documentation, and NGO accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities



Maintain books of accounts in Tally. Handle bank transactions and prepare Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS). Conduct monthly reconciliation of receivables and payables. Verify all bills, vouchers, and supporting documents. Deduct TDS and prepare/assist in filing TDS returns. Knowledge of Statutory Compliance, PF & ESI Challan. Prepare MIS Reports Prepare financial reports for the branch and for donors. Ensure timely vendor payments and manage statutory records. Review income, expenses, and project budgets to ensure timely execution. Recommend purchases and recruitments within approved budgets. Prepare project budgets and assist in budget planning for new proposals. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and donor guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce. Minimum 2 years of experience in the NGO sector handling project accounting and reporting. Strong working knowledge of Tally(Cost Centre, TDS, GST, Journal Entry, Receipt and Payment Entry ) and MS Office (Special - Advance Excel). Good typing speed with minimal errors. Understanding of NGO financial documentation and donor reporting is preferred.

Job Requirements



Must possess a two-wheeler for field visits. Must be willing to relocate to Gurugram if living far from the project site. Comfortable working from the project site in Nayagaon, Haryana and visiting the Head Office in Karala, Delhi - 110081 once a week or as required.
