Assistant Accountant
to support our finance operations, especially within the purchase department.
Job Summary
The
Assistant Accountant
will assist the Accountant/Finance Manager in managing daily financial operations, journal entries, branch-stock accounting, and Tally management. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of purchase department processes, be proficient in the latest Tally software, and maintain accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities1. Purchase Department Operations
Process purchase invoices, track payments, and maintain accurate financial records.
Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
2. Tally Software Management
Maintain and update financial entries in the latest version of Tally.
Process journal entries, invoices, and related accounting transactions.
3. Journal Entries & Financial Transactions
Prepare and post journal entries in line with accounting standards.
Record daily financial transactions including payments, invoices, and credit notes.
4. Branch-Stock Tally Management
Maintain branch-stock tally records accurately.
Reconcile branch-stock records with the general ledger.
5. Financial Reporting & Analysis
Assist in preparing balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
Analyze financial data to identify patterns, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
6. Compliance & Audit Support
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory laws, and internal policies.
Assist auditors by providing necessary financial data and documentation.
Required Technical Skills
Proficiency in
Tally (latest version)
.
Strong working knowledge of journal entries and accounting procedures.
Understanding of accounting standards, regulations, and compliance.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Accuracy and timeliness of financial entries and reports.
Compliance with accounting standards and policies.
Effective branch-stock management and reconciliation.
Quality of financial analysis and reporting.
Timely preparation of financial statements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
Experience in purchase department accounting is an added advantage.
