A Hospitality Accountant is responsible for managing and analyzing the financial records of hospitality businesses. Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Ledger Maintenance
Maintain day-to-day financial transactions, general ledger entries, and journal postings.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts for different departments (housekeeping, food & beverage, front office, etc.).
Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements such as profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow. Monitor operational costs, control overspending, and provide analysis for cost-saving measures. Reconcile income from various sources like room sales, restaurant billing, and event bookings. Ensure timely and accurate processing of employee salaries, benefits, and tax deductions. Handle GST and other tax filings, ensure compliance with local and national financial regulations. Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits, providing required documents and clarification. Track and reconcile stock for hotel items (linen, toiletries, F&B inventory, etc.)
