The Academic Trainer - EYFS supports and enhances the quality of early years education across international preschool settings by ensuring effective implementation of the UK Early Years Foundation Stage framework. The role focuses on training, coaching, and monitoring early years educators to deliver high-quality, culturally responsive, play-based learning aligned with EYFS statutory and best-practice guidance.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver professional development programs for international EYFS teachers and teaching assistants
Support consistent implementation of the EYFS framework across diverse cultural and educational contexts
Train educators on the seven areas of learning, characteristics of effective learning, and age-related expectations
Guide teachers in planning using Development Matters and international best-practice adaptations
Support observation, assessment, and progress tracking, including learning journeys and baseline assessments
Promote child-centred, play-based, and inquiry-led learning approaches
Support inclusive practices, SEND identification, and differentiated learning in multicultural classrooms
Monitor safeguarding, health, safety, and well-being practices in line with EYFS and local regulations
Conduct classroom observations, audits, and quality assurance reviews
Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to improve teaching and learning outcomes
Support preparation for internal quality reviews, British School Overseas (BSO) inspections, or equivalent evaluations
Stay updated on EYFS statutory updates, global early years trends, and international education standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education
Recognized EYFS / Early Years qualification (Level 3 minimum; Level 5/6 preferred)
Minimum 3-5 years of EYFS teaching experience, preferably in an international or British-curriculum school
Strong knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework, Development Matters*, and Early Learning Goals
Skills & Competencies
Deep understanding of child development from birth to five years
Strong training, facilitation, and instructional coaching skills
Experience working with multicultural staff and diverse learner populations
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to adapt EYFS practices to local cultural and regulatory contexts
Knowledge of international safeguarding standards and inclusive education
Strong organizational, documentation, and reporting skills
Experience in Curriculum and Education strategies and innovative learning programs.
Proven expertise in Teaching and Training to support educators in delivering high-quality instruction.
