The Academic Counselor is responsible for guiding prospective students in choosing suitable courses, handling student inquiries, converting leads into admissions, and supporting students throughout their learning journey. The role focuses on counseling, enrollment management, student relationship building, and achieving admission targets while ensuring high-quality student experience.
Key Responsibilities
Student Counseling & Admissions
- Counsel prospective students and parents regarding course offerings, career paths, and training benefits.
- Handle walk-ins, inbound calls, online inquiries, and follow-ups.
- Understand student requirements and recommend suitable programs.
- Convert leads into successful enrollments through effective communication and persuasion.
- Maintain accurate student admission records and documentation.
Lead Management & Follow-up
- Manage leads through CRM or tracking systems.
- Conduct regular follow-ups via calls, messages, and emails.
- Achieve assigned monthly admission targets.
- Coordinate with the marketing team for lead generation activities.
Student Support & Relationship Management
- Serve as the first point of contact for student queries.
- Assist students with onboarding and orientation processes.
- Maintain strong relationships to ensure student satisfaction and retention.
Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with trainers, placement team, and operations team for smooth student journey.
- Prepare daily and monthly reports on inquiries, admissions, and conversions.
- Participate in education fairs, seminars, and promotional events.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline (MBA or relevant qualification preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong convincing and negotiation abilities.
