The School Mentor plays a pivotal role in guiding and monitoring the academic progress of students enrolled in the
Integrated School Program
, which combines
NEET, JEE, and Board preparation
. This role demands a balance of academic expertise, structured monitoring, empathetic mentorship, and effective parent communication to ensure holistic student development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Monitoring & Evaluation
Regularly track student performance in DPPs, CWEs (Chapter-Wise Exams), and weekly tests for NEET, JEE, and Board syllabus.
Identify performance trends (improvement, decline, stagnation) through data and academic logs.
Analyze discrepancies (e.g., strong in Boards but weak in NEET/JEE or vice versa) and implement corrective strategies.
Plan weekly interventions for struggling students, ensuring measurable progress through focused practice.
Customize DPP evaluation methods to address:
Descriptive depth for Boards.
MCQ precision for NEET & JEE.
2. Academic Planning & Content Alignment
Follow the school timetable prepared by Academic Coordinators in line with the yearly academic plan.
Align content delivery with academic milestones, balancing theory-oriented Board preparation with application-based NEET & JEE training.
Emphasize theoretical and practical depth for Boards.
Strengthen concept application, problem-solving, and MCQ techniques for NEET & JEE.
3. Mentorship & Student Engagement
Maintain detailed mentor review logs, documenting academic, emotional, and behavioral observations.
Counsel underperforming students with empathy, setting short-term, achievable goals.
Design and execute structured weekly plans for 35+ students, including:
DPP checking and personalized feedback.
Doubt-clearing sessions.
Academic log updates and performance tracking.
Monitor improvements in weekly test scores.
Oversee hostel rounds to ensure discipline and student well-being.
Coordinate weekly tests and GIB assessments to support academic monitoring.
4. Parent Communication
Conduct
biweekly updates
with parents on academic performance, attendance, and emotional well-being.
Address concerns regarding Board vs NEET/JEE priorities by clarifying the integrated approach and its long-term benefits.
Manage fee-related communication, ensure timely collection, and update portals with accurate records.
5. Time & Resource Management
Optimize time during student evaluations and feedback sessions.
Plan and execute micro-tasks to ensure academic efficiency.
Track and analyze batch-level performance metrics.
Skills & Competencies Required
Strong academic grounding in
NEET, JEE, and Class 11-12 Board syllabus

Analytical ability to interpret performance data and academic trends.
In-depth knowledge of NEET & JEE exam patterns, Board question formats, and preparation strategies.
Expertise in both
MCQ analysis

descriptive answer evaluation

Capability to mentor and track 35+ students while ensuring individual attention.
