The Academic Mentor plays a key role in guiding and supporting students throughout their academic journey within a hybrid learning environment. This position focuses on identifying learning gaps, implementing corrective interventions, and ensuring consistent academic progress, discipline, and holistic student development through structured monitoring, engagement, and continuous collaboration with students and parents.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Monitoring & Evaluation
Maintain a clear understanding of daily academic schedules, chapters in progress, and upcoming lessons to proactively support student learning.
Monitor and evaluate student performance through
DPPs (Daily Practice Problems), DTS (Daily Test Series), and CWEs (Chapter Wise Exams)
.
Analyze academic performance trends, including improvement, decline, or stagnation, using score reports and academic logs.
Identify performance inconsistencies (e.g., strong DPP outcomes but weak DTS results) and determine root causes through detailed evaluation.
Identify underperforming students and design targeted intervention strategies to improve academic outcomes.
Conduct post-DTS doubt-clearing sessions to address conceptual gaps and reinforce learning.
Ensure timely completion of DPP corrections, ideally within
24-48 hours
.
Coordinate weekly assessments and GIB activities to strengthen academic tracking and student engagement.
Conduct hostel rounds and ensure compliance with institutional discipline and guidelines.
Provide ongoing motivation, mentoring, and personal support to help students stay focused and confident.
2. Hybrid Learning & Digital Tool Utilization
Assist students in effectively using the learning app, including doubt discussion forums and other academic tools.
Clearly communicate the hybrid learning model to students and parents, emphasizing flexibility, effectiveness, and accountability.
Ensure active participation in both
online and offline classes
, minimizing disengagement and dropouts.
3. Student Mentoring & Communication
Guide students who do not follow prescribed timetables by reinforcing academic discipline and structured study habits.
Track DTS absenteeism, arrange make-up tests, and analyze attendance patterns for timely intervention.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, feedback, and parent communication in line with internal documentation standards.
4. Parent Communication & Coordination
Clearly explain the program structure, learning objectives, and individual student progress to parents.
Build strong parent relationships through regular updates on attendance, test performance, behavior, and academic improvement.
