Role Description
The ideal candidate should be able to bring together education expertise, creative problem-solving and stakeholder management, towards the creation, implementation, and impact tracking of high-quality initiatives towards improvement of the quality of education in the state run schools.
Key responsibilities
- Towards teacher support and accountability and student learning improvement.
- Designing, piloting and developing the interventions. (e.g. Professional Learning Communities, supporting a cadre of mentor teachers, Recognition mechanisms, remedial learning and tech-based learning solutions etc.)
- Applying content knowledge and classroom experience in developing the interventions that will lead to shifts in teacher mindset, knowledge and practice
- Leading the pilot of interventions, documenting learnings and evolving the design to have greater impact at scale
- Working closely with team to build knowledge as well as build capacity towards improved implementation
- Support in designing the scope and sequence of the training curriculum for teachers, school leaders and education officials.
- Own the instructional design of blended training content end-to-end including creating engaging digital learning resources that are need-based, relevant and rigorous.
- Design high quality needs-assessment and post training assessments to track the impact of the capacity building interventions.
- Identify and map high-quality training content across multiple platforms and work towards curating and building a repository of professional development resources.

- Design and facilitate training sessions for teachers, school leaders and other key stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, including proof reading and editing skills for materials shared internally and externally

Person Specification
Experience:
- Direct classroom and teaching experience of 3-6 years. An education degree in Education is preferred
- Awareness of education structures in India would be preferred.
- Experience of having led content creation for professional development initiatives
- Strong working knowledge of Hindi and English (oral and written)

Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to create technical documentation and liaise with both tech and non-tech stakeholders effectively
- Proficiency in data visualization and presentation
- An appreciation for education overall, and specific areas of expertise in education (e.g. primary school curriculum, digital content delivery, school leadership, etc.) would be preferable
- Strong research instinct, ability to gather information, examine perspectives and create synthesized solutions/recommendations
- An ability to work successfully under pressure with the capacity to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills, to ensure the goals and operations of the project are well understood across all stakeholder groups
Language skills:
Fluency in English and Hindi
Selection
The selection process will involve written tests/assignments, interviews and live demonstrations of expertise (e.g. taking a classroom session), with the senior management team of the organization.
Reference checking & Probation
This role will be subject to enhanced background checks. Additionally, all new staff will be subject to a probation period of three months.
