The Academic Counselor plays a vital role in supporting students' educational journeys by providing guidance, resources, and support tailored to their individual needs. This position involves mentoring students, facilitating group counseling sessions, and collaborating with academic staff to enhance student success. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for education, ensuring that students receive the necessary assistance to navigate their academic paths effectively.

Duties

Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address academic concerns and personal challenges faced by students. Mentor students in developing effective study habits, time management skills, and academic planning. Utilize systems such as PeopleSoft and Ellucian for tracking student progress and maintaining accurate records. Facilitate workshops on topics such as public speaking, interview techniques, and career readiness. Collaborate with faculty and administration to create programs that support student engagement and retention. Provide resources and referrals for additional support services available to students. Stay informed about university policies, procedures, and available academic programs to effectively advise students.

Qualifications
