Monitoring:
Track student progress using grade reports and other tools, and maintain confidential student records.
Collaboration:
Work with faculty, parents, and administrative teams to ensure student success and provide feedback on teaching practices.
Outreach:
Organize and conduct workshops, orientation programs, and informational sessions about academic programs and career pathways.
Sales (in some roles):
For certain positions, this includes converting leads into admissions by explaining the benefits of educational programs and handling objections.
Qualifications and skills
Education:
A bachelor's degree is typically required, with many positions preferring or requiring a master's degree or certification in counseling, education, or a related field.
Experience:
Previous experience in academic advising, counseling, or a student advisory role is often preferred.
Communication:
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.
