The Academic Counselor serves as the primary point of contact for students and parents -- guiding them through course selection, admissions, academic planning, and overall educational decisions. The role focuses on understanding each student's goals, matching them with suitable programs, and ensuring a positive learning experience throughout their academic journey.
Provide one-on-one counseling to students and parents about available courses, programs, and career paths.
Assess students' educational backgrounds, interests, and goals to recommend suitable courses or streams.
Clarify course details -- duration, fees, eligibility, syllabus, and career outcomes.
Motivate and guide students to make informed academic and career choices.
2. Admission Support
Handle walk-ins, phone inquiries, and online leads.
Explain the admission process, eligibility, and documentation requirements.
Follow up with leads through calls, emails, and WhatsApp to ensure timely conversion.
Maintain accurate admission records and update CRM or student management systems.
3. Communication & Relationship Management
Maintain regular contact with enrolled students to ensure satisfaction and address academic concerns.
Coordinate between students, faculty, and administrative staff for smooth course operations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, ensuring transparency and trust.
4. Academic Planning & Student Support
Assist students with course registration, scheduling, and academic planning.
Monitor students' attendance and performance, providing early intervention when needed.
Support students with exam preparation strategies, time management, and study plans.
5. Outreach & Events
Participate in education fairs, counseling sessions, webinars, and orientation programs.
Conduct career awareness workshops or counseling sessions for prospective students.
Support marketing and admission teams during promotional campaigns and events.
6. Reporting & Coordination
Prepare daily/weekly reports on inquiries, counseling sessions, and admissions.
Coordinate with marketing, admissions, and academic departments for student-related updates.
Provide feedback and insights to improve student engagement and retention.
Skills & Qualifications
Diploma/ Any Degree/ PG
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Empathy and active listening skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
