Job Description

The Academic Counsellor will provide educational guidance and support to students to help them achieve their academic goals. This role involves advising students on course selection, academic planning, career opportunities, and resolving any academic-related challenges. The counsellor acts as a bridge between students, faculty, and administration to enhance student success and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

Advise students on academic plans, course selections, and graduation requirements. Assist students in identifying academic strengths and weaknesses. Guide students in setting academic and career goals. Monitor student progress and intervene when academic performance declines. Provide information on college policies, procedures, and available resources. Collaborate with faculty and administrative staff to support student needs. Conduct workshops or seminars on time management, study skills, and goal setting. Maintain accurate and confidential student records. Stay updated on curriculum changes and educational best practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, or a related field. Previous experience in academic advising, counselling, or student support services is preferred. Having Experiences in Academic Counselling. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Familiarity with academic management systems and databases is a plus.
