Job Title: Academic Counselor Department: Academic Counseling Job Responsibilities: Student Guidance and Support: o Provide one-on-one academic counseling and guidance to students. o Assist students in selecting appropriate courses and programs aligned with their career goals. o Address academic concerns and challenges, helping students overcome obstacles to success. o Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for students. o Conduct one-on-one consultations with prospective students to understand their educational goals, interests, and needs. Lead Generation and Customer Acquisition: o Generate and nurture leads through various sales and marketing channels. o Manage lead generation campaigns, including digital marketing, email marketing, and events. o Develop and implement lead nurturing processes to guide leads through the sales funnel. o Oversee customer acquisition efforts to expand the customer base. Academic Counselling: o Provide academic counselling to students, addressing their educational and career goals. o Assist students in course selection, academic planning, and batch assigning. o Collaborate with academic staff to ensure effective communication and support for student needs. o Convert leads to potential customer. o Ensure the team achieves the daily, weekly and monthly targets. Academic Program Management: o Maintain a thorough understanding of the institution's academic programs and course offerings. o Stay informed about curriculum changes, updates, and academic policies. o Work with students to create academic plans and degree maps. o Monitor student academic progress and intervene as needed to ensure timely completion. o Review and evaluate students' applications to ensure all required documents and information are submitted accurately. Career and Educational Advising: o Offer career and educational advice to students, helping them make informed decisions about their future. o Provide resources and information about internships, job placements, and further education opportunities. o Collaborate with faculty and career services to connect students with relevant resources. o Provide detailed information and guidance to prospective students about admission requirements, eligibility criteria, application procedures, and deadlines. Orientation and Onboarding: o Assist in organizing and conducting student orientation and onboarding programs. o Ensure that new students are informed about academic requirements and support services available. o Facilitate introductions to academic advisors and other key personnel. o Conduct campus tours and deliver presentations to showcase the institute's facilities, resources, and academic offerings to prospective students and their families. Student Engagement and Communication: o Act as a liaison between students and academic departments. o Keep students informed about academic deadlines, important dates, and campus events. o Maintain regular communication with students via email, phone, or in-person meetings. o Establish and maintain relationships with colleges, educational consultants, and other external stakeholders to promote the institute and attract prospective students. Data Management and Reporting: o Keep comprehensive records of student interactions and academic plans. o Generate reports on student progress, academic performance, and advising outcomes. o Utilize data to identify trends and areas for improvement in academic advising services. o Maintain accurate and updated records of prospective students, their applications, communication history, and other relevant information in the institute's database or CRM system. Professional Development: o Stay updated on best practices in academic advising and student support. o Attend professional development opportunities and training sessions. o Contribute to the ongoing improvement of academic advising processes and services. o Regularly follow up with prospective students via phone, email, or in-person meetings to address their queries, provide additional information, and ensure a smooth application process. Admissions Support and Process Enhancement: o Provide accurate and up-to-date information about the institute's programs, courses, curriculum, facilities, financial aid, scholarships, and other relevant aspects to prospective students and their families. o Collaborate with other departments, such as academic advisors, financial aid officers, and faculty members, to ensure a seamless transition for admitted students. o Assist in the planning of company events.
