Position Summary

We're seeking a dynamic

Academic Counselor

to join our academic support team. In this role, you will guide students along their educational journey--helping them choose the right programs, monitor their academic progress, and ensure they receive holistic support to thrive personally and professionally.

Key Responsibilities1. Student Academic Guidance

Provide personalized one-on-one counseling to students on program selection, academic performance, and career trajectories. Help students understand curriculum paths, specialization areas, and project options in fashion and design fields.
2. Progress Monitoring & Intervention

Track student performance and identify those needing additional support--whether academically or emotionally. Collaborate with faculty members to develop targeted support plans such as tutoring, workshops, or remedial sessions.
3. Career Planning & Internships

Advise students on industry pathways--internships, placements, and portfolio development. Coordinate with career services or industry partners to create opportunities aligned with students' interests and strengths.
4. Communication & Stakeholder Coordination

Maintain clear communication with students, parents (when needed), and faculty regarding academic progress and support strategies. Organize orientation sessions, webinars, or group counseling workshops focused on time management, study strategies, or navigating creative programs.
5. Administrative & Reporting

Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, student concerns, and action plans. Generate reports on student academic standing and counseling interventions. Support institutional processes related to student retention, satisfaction, and feedback loops.
6. Holistic Student Support

Assist students in building soft skills--study habits, discipline, stress management, and creative confidence. Be a trusted, empathetic resource for students experiencing academic or personal challenges.
Qualifications & Skills

EssentialPreferred

Bachelor's or Master's in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or related fieldExperience in higher education (preferably creative/design institutions)2-4 years experience in academic advising, student counseling, or related roleKnowledge of fashion & design education or industry trendsStrong interpersonal, listening, and communication skillsFamiliarity with student management systems (MIS, CRM, LMS)Empathy, patience, and a solution-oriented mindsetAbility to lead workshops or orientation programsWell-organized with attention to detail in record-keepingMultilingual/Multi-location communication strengthsPersonal Attributes
