Job Title: Academic CounsellorJob Summary
The Academic Counsellor is responsible for guiding students and parents about academic programs, career options, and course selection. The role involves counseling prospective and enrolled students, achieving enrollment targets, and ensuring a positive student experience from inquiry to admission.
Key Responsibilities
Counsel students and parents about courses, curriculum, eligibility, fees, and career opportunities
Handle walk-in inquiries, telephonic calls, emails, and online leads
Understand student needs and recommend suitable programs
Convert inquiries into admissions by effective counseling and follow-ups
Maintain accurate records of inquiries, admissions, and follow-up status in CRM
Coordinate with academic and operations teams for smooth admission process
Achieve monthly/quarterly admission and revenue targets
Participate in seminars, workshops, career guidance sessions, and promotional activities
Resolve student/parent queries and concerns professionally
Ensure proper documentation and fee collection as per company policy
Required Skills & Competencies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong convincing and negotiation abilities
Student-centric and result-oriented approach
Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, Email, CRM tools)
Ability to work under targets and deadlines
Educational Qualifications
Graduate in any discipline (Post-graduate preferred)
Background in education, counseling, sales, or customer service is an advantage
Experience
0-3 years of experience in academic counseling, admissions, or tele-counseling
Freshers with good communication skills may also apply
