The Academic Counsellor will guide students in making informed decisions about their education, career goals, and academic progress. The role involves advising students on course selection, career planning, and personal development while supporting their overall academic success and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Guidance & Counselling
Provide one-on-one counselling sessions to help students with academic planning, course selection, and career goals.
Assist students in understanding program requirements, admissions criteria, and institutional policies.
Career & Educational Planning
Help students explore career paths, higher education options, and skill development opportunities.
Conduct career guidance sessions, workshops, and seminars.
Progress Monitoring
Track student performance and provide support for academic improvement.
Identify students facing challenges and suggest appropriate interventions.
Parental Interaction
Communicate with parents or guardians to discuss student progress when required.
Address concerns and guide families through educational processes.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain student records, counselling notes, and progress reports.
Prepare periodic reports on counselling activities and student outcomes.
Coordination & Collaboration
Work with faculty, administration, and support teams to address student needs.
Participate in orientation programs, admission drives, and academic events.
Workshops & Awareness Programs
Organize sessions on time management, exam preparation, stress handling, and career opportunities.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and computer knowledge.
Prior experience in academic counselling, student advising, or education sector preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle student concerns with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
Good organizational and record-keeping abilities.
Knowledge of education systems, career options, and academic trends.
