Job Summary

The Headmistress will be responsible for academic planning, student discipline, teacher training, and curriculum execution. This leadership role involves supporting the Principal in daily school administration and ensuring continued excellence in academic and co-curricular activities. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, organized, and inspiring educational leader.
Key Responsibilities
:A. General - Yearly Responsibilities:
Implement directives from management and the Principal
Promote a positive, disciplined, and value-based learning environment
Plan and coordinate academic and extracurricular programs
Manage teacher timetables, lesson planning, and classroom resources
Supervise syllabus completion, assessments, and publishing of results
Assist with co-curricular, inter-house, and inter-school activities
Oversee publications: school magazine, bulletin, and calendar
Organize teacher training (minimum 50 hours/year: 25 CBSE + 25 internal)
Conduct teacher appraisals, recruitments, and professional development
B. Daily Routine Duties:
Take at least 16 teaching periods per week (Middle & Preparatory level)
Supervise morning assemblies, moral education, and discipline
Ensure consistent homework/classwork evaluation and teaching standards
Conduct 2 classroom observations (CROs) per day and discuss with Principal
Use teacher stay-back hours for workshops and training
Maintain student discipline records and recommend actions
Conduct 2 learning walks per week with feedback reporting
Organize remedial classes for academically weaker students
Liaise with parents about student progress and engagement
Oversee classroom displays and visual learning aids
Submit a daily school operations report to the Principal/Management
C. Weekly Responsibilities:
Ensure lesson plan updates and submission of teacher reports
Coordinate parent-teacher communication and school events
Supervise execution of the school's activity calendar
Qualifications & Skills Required
:
Master's degree in Education, Child Psychology, or related field
5-10 years of experience in teaching and school administration
Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring capabilities
Strong knowledge of CBSE curriculum and guidelines
Proficient in MS Office and school management systems
