The Academic Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and improving the academic programme for Playway to Class V, ensuring age-appropriate learning, effective teaching practices, and holistic development of students.
Plan and coordinate academic activities as per the school curriculum and guidelines.
Ensure proper implementation of syllabus for Playway to Class V.
Prepare academic calendars, lesson plan formats, and assessment schedules.
Support activity-based, child-centric, and experiential learning methods.
2. Teacher Support & Monitoring
Guide and mentor teachers in lesson planning, classroom management, and teaching strategies.
Regularly check lesson plans, worksheets, and teaching aids.
Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
Arrange academic meetings and training sessions for teachers.
3. Assessment & Evaluation
Design and monitor assessments suitable for early and primary classes.
Ensure proper conduct of examinations and continuous assessments.
Review students' progress, results, and learning outcomes.
Help teachers in result preparation and analysis.
4. Student Development
Monitor academic performance and overall development of students.
Support remedial teaching and enrichment programmes.
Ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for young learners.
5. Parent Communication
Coordinate parent-teacher meetings.
Address parents' academic concerns in consultation with teachers and the Principal.
Communicate academic plans, progress, and school initiatives to parents.
6. Coordination & Administration
Work closely with the Principal, Vice-Principal, and Head Teachers.
Maintain academic records, reports, and documentation.
Ensure timely completion of academic tasks and compliance with school policies.
Assist in school inspections, audits, and academic reviews.
Required Qualifications
Graduate / Post Graduate
Minimum
3-5 years of teaching experience
at Playway/Primary level.
Prior experience as Academic Coordinator or similar role is desirable.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of early childhood and primary education.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to guide, motivate, and manage teachers.
Good organizational and planning skills.
Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Word, Excel, school ERP).
Working Hours
As per school rules and academic requirements.
