This role will contribute to the Economics courses in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programme at the University. This is a 2?year full-time position.
Responsibilities:
As an Academic Associate for Economics, you will,
Work with instructors on two to three undergraduate and postgraduate-level courses, with substantial mathematical, statistical, and programming content each semester.
Conduct lab sessions for undergraduate statistics and econometrics courses.
Conduct tutorials for students who need help with topics in statistics and econometrics.
Prepare teaching material, conduct diagnostic tests, and provide extra support to student projects outside of class hours.
Mentor undergraduate and postgraduate Economics students and providing data and coding related guidance on their projects and other activities.
As an Academic associate in economics, you will be able to engage in independent or collaborative research projects under the guidance of faculty members. You will be assigned a faculty mentor who will provide mentorship, feedback, and support in pursuing independent research projects.
Requirements
Master's degree in economics
Proficiency in quantitative economics and in either STATA or R.
An interest in mentoring and engaging with a socially and academically diverse cohort of students.
Interest in empirical economics is desirable.
