About the Role

Greyhorse Ventures is seeking

esteemed professors and academic leaders

in India to join our network as

Academic Advisors

within our strategic fellowship and venture talent identification initiative. In this role, you will leverage your academic influence and technical expertise to

identify and recommend exceptional students

from engineering, technology, computer science, IT, and other technical disciplines to join the prestigious Greyhorse Fellowship.

Selected fellows will be trained and deployed to

develop products and services for our venture division.

Academic Advisors will be compensated exclusively on a

performance and milestone basis

, directly tied to the success and verified delivery of the referred candidates.

Key Responsibilities

Strategically identify, evaluate, and recommend high-potential students in relevant technical fields who meet the rigorous standards of the Greyhorse Fellowship. Ensure all recommended candidates are academically, technically, and professionally aligned with the requirements of the program. Maintain high levels of engagement within your academic network to build a continuous pipeline of quality candidates. Provide timely and accurate reporting on referrals, qualification statuses, and candidate progress. Act as an ambassador of Greyhorse within the academic community, upholding the integrity and quality of the referral process.

Required Qualifications

Master's Degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical fields. Currently serving as a professor, lecturer, or academic coordinator at an accredited university or technical institution in India. Strong academic credibility and the ability to accurately assess student capabilities and potential. Demonstrated history of mentoring, guiding, or recommending students for external fellowships, projects, or industry collaborations.

Preferred Attributes

Experience with applied research, industry partnerships, or venture-backed projects is highly desirable. Familiarity with product development, startup ecosystems, or innovation-focused academic programs. Strong existing relationships with high-performing student cohorts in technology and engineering streams.

Compensation Structure

Deferred Equity:

Eligible to earn deferred equity compensation of up to

$25,000 USD equivalent per referral

(vesting upon successful candidate delivery and program completion milestones).

Annual Education Cash Voucher:

Academic Advisors will also receive an

Annual Education Cash Voucher of $2,500 USD

, which can be used towards educational resources, professional development, or institutional initiatives.

Milestone-Based Payments:

All compensation is contingent upon the successful qualification, onboarding, and verified performance of referred candidates.

Performance-Linked Model:

There is no base salary; this role is fully tied to measurable programmatic outcomes.
