Technical Marketing Engineer, Staff – Cloud-Ready Data Center

About the Position:
Juniper’s Cloud-Ready Data Center TME team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated, individual to drive and own technical marketing activities for our data center product portfolio. The selected candidate will be part of Juniper’s growing Cloud-Ready Data Center PLM and TME group. In that capacity you will have core Data Center product responsibility. TMEs are expected to guide PLMs and Engineering during the ongoing lifecycle of product planning and delivery. Your role is key in driving the evolution and adoption of the expanding data center. You will define, articulate, and promote the technical merits and architecture at product, portfolio, and solution levels, and engage directly with field and customers. This is a key individual contributor role that requires leadership experience, very strong technical insights and ability to communicate and present with technical proficiency. You will work in cross-functional partnerships with teams such as PLM, engineering, marketing, systems engineering and other product groups to execute against Juniper’s growth strategy.

Responsibilities:
• Produce Technical Decision Maker presentations about our Data Center products and solutions and maintain them up to date with the evolution of our products and industry and business trends.

• Produce Competitive Analysis collaterals that highlight our strengths and areas of improvements and keep them up to date with the evolution of competitors’ products and market and business trends.
• Design relevant demos of our Data Center products and solutions in close collaboration and make them available and easily reproducible by the field engineers
• Present the most relevant TME projects in the regular webinars targeted at the field engineers
• Design and implement compelling Proof of Concept lab setups, run them, and collect and document the results for the field consumption
• Keep well informed and educated about industry and competitors’ evolutions and trends, and report back to PLM, TME, and Engineering teams.
• Keep your technical skills sharp by committing time to trainings and certifications
• Keep yourself well educated about the company’s vision, strategy, and execution plans
• Embrace the company’s culture and vocabulary
• Actively contribute to New Product Introductions
• Actively contribute to deciding our products roadmap in close collaboration with PLM peers
• Deliver technical trainings and TOIs for field engineers, partners, and customers
• Participate in industry events and industry tests and certifications
• Participate in RFP/RFI responses and defenses, contribute to boilerplates for responses
• Build and expand relationships with key customers
• Represent the Data Center Business Unit in webinars, podcasts and industry events

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the data center market, routing, and switching
• Proven track record in a technical leadership role in the areas of networking, data centers, and cloud technologies
• Experience in building lab demo or POC installations composed of products and tools from multiple vendors
• Hands-on with excellent troubleshooting skills, obsessed about Root Cause Analysis

Qualifications & Skills:

• College Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent technical field.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Data Center industry and market trends, and challenges.
• Excellent understanding of Data Center technologies such as BGP and EVPN-VXLAN,
• Excellent knowledge of Data Center designs and architectures, such as CLOS fabrics
• Good knowledge of routing and switching protocols such as STP, VRRP, LAG, MC-LAG, LACP.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills across different audience levels
• Kubernetes, OpenShift, and OpenStack and their networking and security
• Containers and compute virtualization
• Networking, particularly overlay architectures and EVPN
• Multi-cloud architectures and data center interconnections

• Automation & Scripting Skills (e.g Bash, Ansible, Python), GitHub • Good knowledge about major players in the telecommunications and cloud sectors
