About the Role
We are seeking a versatile and creative
2D/3D Generalist Artist
to join our dynamic indie game development team. As a
Generalist Artist
, you will contribute to a wide range of art-related tasks based on the project needs. You will be responsible for creating high-quality assets, from concept art to modeling, texturing, rigging, and animating. This is a hands-on, on-site role best suited for someone with a strong portfolio who thrives in a variety of artistic tasks and is eager to explore different art styles.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Creation:
Develop high-quality 2D and 3D assets such as characters, environments, props, and visual effects.
Concept Art & Visual Development:
Create compelling concept art and mood boards to help visualize the game's world and its components.
Modeling, Texturing, Rigging, and Animation:
Model, texture, rig, and animate characters or assets as per project requirements.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the design and development team to ensure assets fit within the game environment and align with the project's creative direction.
Adaptability:
Take on different tasks, including creating art assets for various gameplay elements, and adjust to changing project needs and deadlines.
Requirements
Portfolio:
Strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in both 2D and 3D art creation.
Software Proficiency:
Experience with industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, Substance Painter, or their equivalents.
Game Art Pipeline Knowledge:
Solid understanding of the game art pipeline, including asset creation, optimization, and integration into game engines.
Flexibility:
Ability to switch between different tasks and adapt to various art styles based on project needs.
Communication Skills:
Strong ability to communicate effectively with team members, providing feedback and collaborating on design iterations.
Time Management:
Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
Location:
Willingness to work on-site in Bangalore.
Nice to Have
Game Engine Experience:
Familiarity with Unity or Unreal Engine.
Game Design Knowledge:
Basic understanding of game design principles and how art integrates into the overall gameplay experience.
Indie Game Experience:
Prior experience working in an indie game studio or startup environment.
