Systems Engineering Advisor I
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Completes backup and recovery, data migration, storage allocation, connectivity, and storage reporting requests.
Creates, removes, and expands file systems and volumes.
Provides SAN switch director monitoring, configuration, and support.
Works with senior peers to develop change management procedures.
Creates and maintains documentation.
Creates investment proposals and presents concepts during team meetings.
Provides assistance with system solution design.
May require rotating 24x7 on-call support responsibility as well as weekend support
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Basic knowledge of operating systems and systems administration concepts
Experience withIBM z/OS, DFSMS, IBM DS8000 DASD, IBM TS77xx and VTS is required
CA Vantage Storage Resource Manager GDPS, or REXX experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and technologies as well as a personal commitment to stay current with latest technology concepts
Good problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
Identifies and resolves less clearly defined problems using established procedures and/or protocols as guidelines
Education: Any Graduate
