The team:

The Product Design team is accountable for delivering the absolute best experience of using and deriving value from our products. 1000's of restaurants rely on our products to be intuitive and easy to use so that they can easily manage complex operational workflows while focusing on crafting their best delicacies. Our products need to deliver consistently for an audience that stretches across those who are well versed with digital products to those who have very limited knowledge.

Your role:

As a Lead Product Designer, you will work closely with the Product leadership and customers directly to have an in-depth understanding of all our products' value proposition. You will lead our long-term product strategy and serve as the primary contributor.

You will:

Develop a deep understanding of the user's unmet needs and goals for the larger product team and organization. You contribute ideas that strengthen our products, help users, and surpass competitors.

Take ownership for the organization's design system. You help others contribute design patterns to the design system

Create new design patterns in a new product space that has little-to-no existing design patterns to reference.

Create a well defined process for making design decisions that is backed by data. Move fast through the Discover, Define, Develop, and Deliver phases.

Closely study our competitor product portfolios and plan for delivering a better experience with our products.

Lead research initiatives to answer fundamental product questions.

Establish a strong relationship with customers to better understand their needs and how our products can deliver the best value.

Be relied upon to define execution plans for major projects by effectively dividing tasks within the team of designers.

Mentor and teach designers on how to organize their work and adhere to a consistent design language.

We are looking for someone who has/is:

5+ years of design experience and has led a team of designers for at least 1-2 years.

A formal education or completed a reputed course in the field of product design.

Able to communicate complex design ideas and concepts in a simple and easy to understand manner.

A strong portfolio of work delivering on large scale projects and multiple products.

Strong in visual and motion design with the ability to reason the business value that can be driven through design choices.

Expert understanding of layouts, colors, iconography and typography.

Defined and implemented sound design processes to build and manage a design library exhibiting cohesion, consistency and clarity across products.

Worked with the prevalent tools of the industry like Figma and Sketch.

A strong sense of ownership at ensuring that the quality of engineering implementation meets the design expectations.

Worked closely with senior leadership at a growth stage startup.

Familiar with the restaurant industry and the evolution of online food delivery.
