Program Overview for Sustainable Cities and Transport

About your role:

The Electric Mobility team supports Indian cities in their journey to be low carbon through applied research, tools, hands-on advice, and by tapping our network of Indian and international experts. Making the move to electric mobility requires a carefully planned strategy that envisions the merging of the transportation and energy sectors and re-envisions relationships between people and vehicles. As part of WRI's initiative towards Sustainable Low Carbon Transport, we will be conducting research on electric vehicle ecosystem, helping the State Nodal Agency to enable adoption of EVs at institutional level, policy implementation of EV retro fitment adoption and handholding and policy planning support for the deployment of charging infrastructure. The team is also involved with projects facilitating provision of electric feeder services for first and last mile connectivity to the metro. The EV team is working very closely with various stakeholders in Telangana to support the electrification drive of the State as part of these efforts.
Towards this end, we invite qualified candidates to support the team in conducting research, geospatial analysis, junction design, data and policy analysis, preparing briefs/notes for EV implementation in Hyderabad, data collection from various government departments and support the national team in their policy and research efforts.

How your day will unfold:

- Support research on above and related areas of work, in the form of quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Support in engagement with different Government organisations/ OEMs/ financing institutions/ auto unions/ drivers to support the project implementation.
- Take lead in deploying different forms of surveys, collect data and conduct data analysis and modelling to provide analytical solutions and insights to meet project outputs.
- Coordinate with project teams and other stakeholders to analyze complex datasets from a variety of sources.
- Contribute to written outputs, including peer-reviewed articles, WRI working papers, and blog posts.

Qualifications and Requirements we seek:

- A Masters or higher degree in Urban/ Transport Planning or other relevant disciplines.
- A good understanding of sustainable urbanization and transportation, and electric mobility is necessary
- A good understanding of quantitative/ qualitative analytical tools and research methodologies.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data from various primary and secondary sources.
- Demonstrate experience in research, field works, and data collection.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Auto CAD and any spatial analysis software.
- Excellent writing and verbal skills in English and Telugu.
- Be responsible, self-motivated, curious, and efficient.
- Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.

Stipend: 25000 Per Month
Location: Hyderabad, India
